One very cold, wet night, there was a knock on my front door. A young man, wet from 21 to toe, explained that he had run out of petrol. He had left his pregnant(怀孕的) wife and his two children 22 at the car and said that he would hitchhike(搭便车) back.
Once I had 23 a can with petrol, I took him back to his car. Once the car had started, I suggested that he follow me back.
