in this period first we will have a listening.during this section the teacher may tell the students some listening strategies,as it is the first listening lessons.as we all know,listening is a primary skill in learning a language.it comes the first among the four basic skills,i.e.listening,speaking,reading,

and writing.therefore it is very important for the students to listen in the right way.then we’ll do a short pronunciation practice,paying attention to the word stress.at last,we’ll come to speaking.in speaking,we’ll play a game of guessing scientists’ names.first,the students may think of a famous scientist or inventor and some information about his life.some questions about scientists are given as examples.then work with another pair.guess who pair b is describing by asking yes or no questions.pair work will be involved in this part and more practice will be encouraged.
