professor peter higgs was making his first detailed public comments since researchers at the european organization for nuclear research, known as cern, announced on wednesday they believe they have found the subatomic particle. the announcement came following nearly 50 years of research after higgs published the groundwork for the particle, nicknamed the “god particle” (上帝粒子) because it is powerful and everywhere, in 1964.
