thoughts on the design:
本节课是以听说写为主的task课型。先brainstorm各种表示“选择性”的句型,让学生首先能感知这些句型,根据要求学生进行理解识记。然后再让学生把学到的知识进行提炼,理解这些句型的具体用法,最后写一篇有关建议和警告的文章。

step 1 lead-in
ask some students to talk about the sentence patterns about receiving or offering advice.
skills building 2: asking for and offering alternatives
•when you are receiving advice, but you don’t want to make a current solution or plan, what will you do?
asking for alternatives:

your cold. you went to ask a doctor for some advice. make some sentences using the patterns asking for alternatives given in this part.
•what can i do instead of taking large amounts of vitamins and painkillers when i have
got a headache or a running nose?
•suppose you were the doctor, what advice would you like to give to mrs. tang? use
the patterns asking for alternatives given in this part.
•instead of taking medicine, you should do exercise often and eat well to keep your body
healthy.
